Not a huge fan of the echo-yness, but the cast does much better than the Clockwork Heart production. I know it's the original cast, but still

I need Oliver Marsh to be in more stuff, what an actor! Not to mention a great voice, but his body language and facial expressions are so spot on. Man could win an oscar if he wanted to.

В глазах её серо, обычно и бедно, хоть цвет шоколадный, почти нефтяной, хоть волос каштаново-исчерна-медный её украшает пахучей волной, пускай и улыбка весельем играет, пускай хоть резвятся морщинки, зрачки, и всем собеседницам в такт потакает, даруя смотрящим очей огоньки, ресниц лепестки поднимая изящно, так мило, по-девичьи, взор опустив, красуясь одеждой, помадою влажной и юным задором, какой ещё жив, нестаростью, зрелостью, женскою статью, губами, что, правда, на вид так вкусны, и явно большою поклонничьей ратью, и думами лёгкими, что не грустны, молочными формами, страстью изгибов, манящей хитринкой, богатством вещей, набором нарядов, мелодий, флюидов, чертами восточной султанши, ничьей... Но всё же, в очах легковесные грёзы, с секретом иль темью пустой, немечтой. Как будто бы в них не бывали и слёзы, а вот уж без них человек - есть ничто..

Кедровые кудри В каштановых нитях, кудрях, завитушках, что цвета кедровых орехов и грив, играют лучи, как на летних опушках, на пышных просторах дубрав или нив. Кофейные струны волос так душисты, сочны, как литые сорта эскимо. Их дивные формы чисты и волнисты, как будто у лучшей актрисы кино! На бурой и карей причёске пылинки, как иней на листьях, на пашне весной, как крошка алмазная иль золотинки, как капельки в кроне осенней, сухой. Всё это твой образ, живой и любимый, почти что икона, тотем, идеал, который поздней меня предал ретиво средь трасс и столичных, бесчувственных скал.

Любовь - алмаз в стеклянном море .. Найти алмаз среди стекла - знак мастерства, удачи, нюха, уменья выискать средь зла частицу доброго для духа. Слыть знатоком красот, стихов, хранящим дар назло... во имя... - есть комплимент превыше слов, синоним Бога, что стал зримым. Быть докой в толпах неумех, хранить ремесленную сущность - есть смелость, стойкость между вех, в каких безрукость, дурь и тучность. Вдруг разыскать свою любовь - пик достижений, сверхзаслуга, вмиг стать маэстро без оков, какой обрёл свою супругу!

The best part of this whole thing is the piano player. He needs his own camera.

There are versions of this with more actors, better sets and choreography. But this has by far the best singing and acting. For instance, the facial dialogue of the actor playing Priscilla is amazing - and the two women supporting Jasper are strangely emotive.

Geez..,. after The Muppet Movie, after "Pennies from Heaven".. after Rocky Horror-- even after Phantom of the Paradise.... THIS beautiful opera, THIS is my favorite musical of all time. Much love to Paul Shapera. Miss Helen's Weird West Cabaret, and the Grand Cyberpunk Gala shook me to my toes, even made me cry... I love them no less besides that here, HERE, is where it all started. I'm onboard for the long haul because of the beauty of this opera!

Listening to the album and watching other performances were so vastly different from this. Seeing the original performance with the original cast added something. I cried during both Elysian Night and The Day They Come. This was beautiful.

Baldi (can't remember his name, sorry...) is kind of like one of those incels who try to date their cousin or some shit, but gay.

I love the voice for Jasper, what with Shapera on the piano and unable to do it. Plus, Jasper actually seems to have a little more character in this, finally seeing it live... that little "boop" on Priscilla's nose, the way he himself reaches out to touch her shoulder before his doll-self gets shot... and the work with the puppet was so well done!

This is definitely my favorite Edgar and Soldier 7285. The Narrator is fantastic as well, kinda torn between her and Johanna Spencer's rendition; both were incredible.

So far out of all the many versions of this I’ve seen, this is the best. A lot of things could use improvement, but the singing is incredible, which is the dealbreaker for me.

I love how these actors played their roles, they show emotions, they have great voices and there are not unnecessary elements like out of place dances, really love this one please keep like this n_n

Oh my god the ending made me cry. When I first listened to the album I didn't cry at the end but seeing her get brutally shot while the sodlier stared in horror really drove it in and tears started flowing from my eyes

There are so many comments about how this version is better than The Clockwork Heart Production... The reason for that is because THIS IS the first production of the Opera, with the original cast. Although this video was posted in 2015 here, you can find it on Vimeo, having been posted back in 2013, around the time the soundtrack was released.

I love this opera. It has hit me hard. Now, seeing it with this acting and emotion, it hits twice as hard. I cannot express how amazing this is.

Ok I love this version, the singing in so perfect, it's accurate despite the budget and it's so soulful but that doll has me laughing my ass off

I feel like not many instruments played at the same time, and i prefered the more childlike voice of annabelle.If some people like it, fine with me, but I prefer the other one.
